The press conference featured a performance video of Vienna Boys Choir’s “Hello, Hong Kong”. The festival’s name in Chinese, “維港音樂節”, does not only connect the Chinese initials of Vienna (維) and Hong Kong (港), but also a word play with Victoria Harbour (維港).
Organised by Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation, the festival offers a series of musical repertoires starting mid-July. Master courses and music academy are also open to aspiring local musicians.
The foundation is planning to set up an international school in Hong Kong 2018, the Vienna Boys Choir International School. The school will offer International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and musical training of Vienna Boys Choir.
